Our Thanksgiving Eve services are always a time of readings, poetry, and music. At last night's Thanksgiving Eve service I did a reading of this column (also under the cut below). I really hammed it up, and everyone really enjoyed it. One person came up and told me that was the most they'd ever heard me speak at one time. Which is probably true for most of the folks that were there. :)

This same service featured a cover of Marilyn Manson's cover version of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus." So, that probably gives you some idea of what it was like.

Bill Bennett & Jon Stewart

I don't like all of Stewart's arguments, but my favorite parts:

Stewart gets Bennett to admit "family" is the long-term basis of society, not modern marriage, and Bill goes on to volunteer that gay people are already part of families.

Stewart says, "It's a debate about whether gay people are part of the human condition, or just a random fetish."
